...WHAT IS CHRIST ASKING OF YOU?
HE IS LOOKING FOR THOSE WHO WILL HELP HIM IN THE NEW EVANGELIZATION.
HE IS SEEKING MISSIONARIES OF HIS WORD FOR ALL THE PEOPLE ....
HE IS SEEKING THOSE WHO WILL BUILD A NEW SOCIETY, ONE THAT IS MORE JUST, MORE FRATERNAL, MORE RECEPTIVE...
CHRIST NEEDS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.

The Youth Ministry Commission of Holy Cross Catholic Church is to provide support and guidance to the parish for ministry to, with, by and for our youth, with emphasis on holistic development, by building a total ministry program.
Our unique program is being built upon the understanding that Youth Ministry reaches the youth through "Fire & Peace".

CATECHETICAL PROGRAMS Faith Formation / Education
6TH, 7TH & 8TH GRADES
MUSTARD SEED GROUPS
These groups are for youth in grades 6, 7 & 8. Youth attend these groups for their Religious Education sessions. They meet from 10:15 A.M to 11:20 A.M., the first three Sundays of the month, beginning near the end of September. Special activities are planned monthly (nursing home visits, trips to the Cathedral and Mother Cabrini Shrine). Registration takes place at the first session, or contact the Parish Office after the groups have begun.
SENIOR HIGH YOUTH GROUP (grades 9-12)
Youth come together in a fun and less formal atmosphere to share their faith. Through activities and Bible Studies their faith is formed and strengthened. Youth Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. If a month has a fifth Sunday, a special event may be planned. Friends are always welcome to attend. We celebrate birthdays monthly, (3rd Sunday), with Ice Cream and Cake!
CONFIRMATION
Youth in grades 7 - 12 are eligible for the Confirmation preparation process. An information meeting is held in September to explain the process. The Sponsor is a vital person in regard to the preparation of each youth. Youth and their Sponsor will schedule and meet regularly (monthly) in addition to scheduled meetings. An information sheet regarding Who is A Sponsor is available. Adults who wish to receive this Sacrament please call the parish office.
RCIY or YOUTH INITIATION
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Youth is open for any youth between the grades of 6 and 12, who would like to join the Catholic Church or complete preparation for First Eucharist. The youth involved will also prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Reception of these sacraments will take place in the Easter season. Registration happens at the first session or contact the Parish Office.
