1. Where is the church located? Driving directions
9371 Wigham St, Thornton, CO 80229-3879
From I-25 turn onto Thornton Parkway and travel east past Grant,
toWashington and to the light at Russell Blvd. Turn right at the light and
go to the stop sign (Eppinger Blvd). Turn left on Elppinger and go about
one mile to Wigham Street. A left turn will bring you to the church and
office. There is a sign on that corner.
2. What is the mass schedule?
Weekends: Saturday 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM (Spanish)
Sundays: 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:30 AM
Weekdays: 8:30 AM (Monday through Thursday)
Holy Days: 8:30 AM, 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM Vigil (Spanish)
3. How do I arrange for a baptism?
Please call the office at least two months before you wish the baptism.
You will receive an initial interview over the phone. Classes are held in
English and in Spanish and are required for parents and godparents. Our
secretary will be happy to answer any particular questions about the classes or
celebration of the Sacrament.
4. How do I arrange for a wedding?
Please call the office at least 6 months (9 months preferred) before your
anticipated wedding date. You will make an appointment with a priest or
deacon who will lead you through the preparation program which consists in an
initial interview, the FOCCUS pre-marriage inventory and the Sponsor Couple
program. We will help you with the needed paper work and in planning the
wedding ceremony. These classes must be started to reserve a wedding date
and time on our calendar. If you have special questions, please contact a
priest or deacon.
5. How can I get emergency assistance (food, rent, utility help)?
All requests for assistance are answered through our St Vincent de Paul
Society chapter. Call our office to arrange for a visit from a society member.
After hours please call the parish phone and enter #46 for the assistance line.
6. How do I get an annulment?6
By contacting a priest or a deacon you can begin the annulment process.
There are many misunderstandings and strong feelings about annulments, that is
why we wish to speak with you individually to answer questions and explain the
process. There are several kinds of annulments depending on the situation of the
previous marriage. The priest or deacon will be happy to assist you
through the whole process. Note that if you are planning a wedding in the
church, any previous marriages by either party must be dealt with through the
annulment process.
7. Se habla espanol? Anyone speak Spanish?
Deacon Nehemias Ruiz directs our ministry to the Spanish speaking.
Josie Duran in our parish office serves as secretary. Both are bilingual.
Josie's hours are: Tuesdays 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM; Wednesdays 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM;
and Fridays 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
8. How do I register in the parish?
You can stop in the office, call the office or speak to an usher or greeter
after weekend masses to receive a registration form. We will be happy to register you (and your family) in our
parish and share with you how you can become more active and share in our parish
programs and services. Welcome to our family!
9. How do I register my children for religious education classes?
Children must be registered for religious education classes a week before
they begin to attend. Registrations take place in the Fall prior to the
first class and there after may be made in the parish office. For more
information and for a calendar of classes please go to the Religious Education
page of our web site. For children in Junior or Senior High Schools please
go to the Youth page for information.
10. How do I register my children for Sacraments (First Communion,
First Reconciliation, Confirmation)?
Each of these Sacraments has a special class series of preparation.
Children must be in our regular religious education classes to register for one
of these. Contact our Religious Education office for details or to
register.
11. How do I arrange for a Presentation, a Quincinerra or a wedding
anniversary Mass/blessing?
We are happy to offer special celebrations. In each case you should
call the parish office to be directed to the appropriate celebrant and to make
arrangements. Our weekend church calendar is very busy, so call early.
Preparation classes may be required as well. We will help you plan the
liturgy.
